22 November 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An AFGC Associate Member Event brought to you by dss+
22 NOVEMBER from 6:00 PM | Presentation at 6:10 PM | NetworkinG from 6:45 PM
In the lead up to the festive season, join us for a networking event, with a splash of learning opportunity. Before delegates mingle at the always memorable Mint on Macquarie St, Melissa Barrett, dss+ Global Head of Sustainability & Corporate Impact, will
- Outline latest thinking with regards to sustainability in the food and grocery industry across a range of issue, such as carbon footprint, packaging, waste reduction, supply chain, etc.
- Present examples of work done in this area by leading overseas FMCG brands
- Share recommendations on where to start, how to build momentum organisation-wide and which pitfalls to avoid.
At a time when food and grocery companies and their value chains are facing a perfect storm, sustainability and ESG expectations continue to be on the rise. They should and can be embraced as an opportunity for the whole organisation if understood and applied pragmatically. There is no perfect food, no perfect sustainability approach, but understanding your sustainability context, which is unique to each organisation, will enable initiatives to be given the right strategy and focus. It will keep you ahead of regulatory standards and help you capture the opportunity that changing customer expectations brings.
Sustainability & ESG is a value driver, to manage costs and risks, but also to generate upside for your brands and revenue – if tackled in a holistic way.
