On 2 October 2020, Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar announced amendments to the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct. This follows the 2018 Independent Review of the Code and the Government’s acceptance of 13 of the 14 recommendations that were made.

The AFGC will be running a series of webinars, briefing full members on the changes to the Code. All customer facing staff within member companies would benefit from attending one of these webinars, in particular staff from buying, category and marketing teams.

The Food and Grocery Code of Conduct is an important tool for suppliers to use in their dealings with signatory retailers Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. AFGC encourages all members to promptly update their staff, systems and processes to take full advantage of the amendments to the Code.
