Colm Maguire

26 November 2024

Colm Maguire is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC), where he leads the organisation’s purpose of bringing Australia’s FMCG industry together to champion growth.

Through collaboration, advocacy and industry leadership, he works to strengthen the sector’s ability to innovate, grow and meet the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.

Colm brings extensive leadership experience spanning industry, member-based organisations and sport.  A career grounded in service and purpose links his time from the Air Force through to leading the peak body representing Australia’s largest domestic manufacturing sector.

Before joining the AFGC, he was Chief Operating Officer at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, where he led major transformation and cultural change initiatives. Prior to this, he served for a decade as Chief Executive Officer of Touch Football Australia.

He has also held a number of board and governance roles, including with the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) and several sporting organisations. Colm is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Leaders and Managers, and was recently inducted into the Leading Teams Hall of Fame. The AFGC’s purpose and priorities align closely with Colm’s leadership philosophy, which centres on bringing people together, building strong partnerships and creating the conditions for sustainable growth and shared success.
