The Australian Food and Grocery Council is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 season of Sustaining Australia TV, developed in partnership with ASN Media. Returning for another season, the series provides a fresh lens on the food and grocery manufacturing industry – spotlighting its impact, innovation and critical role in Australia’s future.

With a national footprint and over 280,000 Australians working across the sector, the series shares powerful stories of progress across investment, innovation, health, and sustainability, while continuing to elevate the people, policies, and practices shaping one of the country’s most vital industries.
Through documentary-style content, the new season of Sustaining Australia TV explores how Australia’s food and grocery manufacturing sector is navigating key opportunities and challenges across four essential themes:
Across the country, manufacturers are scaling up domestic production with renewed confidence. From regional expansion to energy-resilient facilities, companies like Simplot, Ego Pharmaceuticals and Suntory Oceania are reimagining what Australian-made looks like in the 21st century, creating jobs and future-proofing supply chains in the process.
New technologies are transforming the industry from the inside out. Whether it’s digitised supply chains, smart packaging, or collaborative R&D, leaders such as GS1 Australia, Avery Dennison and the University of Melbourne are pushing boundaries to deliver faster, smarter and more sustainable outcomes.
As Australians become more health-conscious, manufacturers are responding with purpose. Businesses like Danone, LifeStyle Bakery and Kellogg’s are developing products that support better nutrition without compromising flavour, affordability or trust. Reformulation, food education and innovation are all in play.
Environmental pressures are reshaping the way the industry thinks and operates. From cutting emissions to repurposing waste, organisations including Eden Brew, Tip Top Bakeries and End Food Waste Australia are driving initiatives that put sustainability at the heart of everyday production.
Colm Maguire, AFGC CEO says: “Our industry’s commitment goes beyond production; it’s about making a meaningful impact on communities and the environment. Sustaining Australia TV brings to light these stories of dedication and progress, illustrating how our sector is actively contributing to a healthier, more sustainable Australia for generations to come.”
Jonathan Love, Director of ASN Media, emphasised the value of collaborative storytelling at scale: “Sustaining Australia TV remains a dynamic platform to champion innovation, challenge the status quo, and celebrate leadership across the food and grocery industry,” he said. “We’re excited to once again partner with the AFGC to bring these stories to life, inspire dialogue, and spotlight positive change.”
The full 2025 season of Sustaining Australia TV is now live on the AFGC website at satv.afgc.org.au, with all content available to stream on demand.
