AFGC joins discussion on packaged food donation challenges

The AFGC has been invited to participate in a Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) stakeholder roundtable in Adelaide on 7 October 2026 to explore regulatory challenges and opportunities associated with packaged donated foods.

The agenda will cover food regulatory requirements, including food safety and date marking issues, food relief initiatives, and the barriers and opportunities associated with redirecting surplus food to food relief channels.

The AFGC will contribute an industry perspective to the discussion and keep members informed of any developments or outcomes relevant to the sector. Members with examples, case studies or practical insights relating to regulatory barriers to food donations are encouraged to contact Duncan Craig ahead of the roundtable.
