Food security to be elevated to national debate

AFGC has secured support for a key recommendation to strengthen Australia’s food security, with CSIRO recommending a review of the country’s reliance on essential inputs such as fertiliser, fuel and other critical supply chain products as part of advice to the Federal Government.

AFGC has consistently highlighted vulnerabilities in Australia’s food and grocery supply chain, including reliance on overseas suppliers for some essential inputs. The review will help identify risks and strengthen long-term food security planning.
