Food for Thought: The bigger picture behind APEX

21 July 2026

Every conversation across our industry seems to come back to the same question: how do we balance today’s pressures with tomorrow’s opportunities?

From navigating regulatory change, circular economy initiatives and evolving sustainability reporting requirements to managing supply chain resilience, workforce challenges, retailer-supplier relationships and shifting consumer behaviour, leaders are being asked to balance immediate realities with long-term ambition.

Interconnectedness is something we see every day through the AFGC’s advocacy, policy work and collaboration across the value chain. Supply, commercial strategy, sustainability and regulation can no longer be viewed in isolation. Progress increasingly depends on our ability to connect those conversations, share perspectives and learn from one another.

This is why APEX 2026 matters. More than an industry event, it is an opportunity for leaders from across the FMCG value chain to step back from day-to-day pressures, exchange ideas, challenge assumptions and explore the trends shaping our future. At a time when change is accelerating, bringing together diverse perspectives has never been more important. The conversations, insights and connections formed at APEX will help equip our industry to navigate complexity and seize new opportunities with confidence.

Those themes are also shaping the work underway across the AFGC. Whether it’s strengthening workforce capability or helping build more productive retailer-supplier relationships, our focus is on addressing challenges no single business can solve alone. Our work with the Advantage Group through the Voice of Customer and Voice of Supplier report continues to highlight the value of trust, transparency and collaboration in creating lasting value across the value chain. Watch this space as we refresh and build on this important body of work.

If you haven’t already secured your place, I encourage you to register for APEX: The Industry’s Summit.
