AFGC joins Austrade Trade Diversification Network

13 January 2026

Background

Trade and Tourism Minister, Don Farrell, has announced today that AFGC is one of 40 peak bodies that have secured membership of the Trade Diversification Network (TDN).

The TDN is a key feature of the Australian Government’s Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI) – a $50 million, two-year program where Austrade partners with peak bodies to help Australian exporters build resilience and diversify markets.

A highly competitive process attracting strong interest, our success is a clear endorsement of the food and grocery sectors’ role in driving export growth and confidence in AFGC in delivering results for members.

AFGC action

Our immediate priority is to work with Austrade on a Trade Diversification Plan to identify key priorities and tailored activities within the scope of the program. Member input will be central to ensure alignment with industry needs.

Potential activities include:

  • In-market initiatives (joint trade missions, sector-specific trade shows)
  • Enhanced market insights and reporting
  • Training
  • Buyer engagement and lead generation through Austrade and partner networks
