Expression of Interest for AFGC Board Nominations

30 September 2024

Dear Members,

The Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) is currently seeking expressions of interest from our members to be considered for the AFGC Board.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the AFGC and represent the interests of the food and grocery sector.

If you are interested in being considered for a position on the Board, please submit your expression of interest, including a brief statement of capability with relevant qualifications and experience via the email below to the Company Secretary, by 5pm EDST on Friday, 11th October.

The Board Remuneration and Nominations Committee will review all Expressions of Interest in line with the Board Composition Matrix to ensure the Board continues to broadly represent the diversity of the membership.  Candidates will then be recommended to the membership for election at the Annual General Meeting in November.

In line with the current composition of the Board the following areas are identified as favourable however, all expressions are welcome:

  • Australian Owned small to medium enterprise
  • Other considerations include non-branded/private label provider, importer and online or outside retail distribution channels
  • Membership categories
    • Dairy
    • Petcare
    • Fats and Oils
    • Non-Food
    • Bread and baked goods
  • Board experience and qualifications related to governance will be considered an advantage

For more information or to submit your interest, please email Colm Maguire – colm.maguire@afgc.org.au.

We encourage all interested members to apply and contribute to the continued success and governance of the AFGC.
