Member Matters
Protected: Essential together: what we delivered with your support this year.
25 June 2026
Thank you for being a valued member of the AFGC.
Your support and commitment help drive the strength of our industry. Together, we are building a stronger voice, deeper connections, and a more confident path to growth.
We are grateful for your trust and the role we play together in shaping this sector.
This year has reinforced what matters most: when our industry comes together, we are stronger.
1. A clearer purpose and strategy
Over the past year, we have sharpened AFGC’s purpose and direction, guided by new leadership and extensive member consultation to align with our ambition of a $250 billion industry by 2030.
Our purpose is clear: to bring Australia’s fast-moving consumer goods industry together to champion growth.
- Our strategy is built around three pillars: Growth, People and Products.
- It strengthens targeted advocacy, deeper engagement and practical support aligned to member priorities.
- It brings clearer accountability, so members can see the value delivered.
2. Advocacy in action
Advocacy remains at the core of the AFGC’s work on behalf of members.
- We developed practical tools, including the Electrification Fact Sheet.
- We led national media engagement across TV, radio, print and digital, stepping into the supply chain debate on risks linked to the Middle East conflict and bringing balance and real-world context to discussions on cost, supply chain and regulatory pressures.
- We conducted a 360‑degree review of members and retailers, delivering the report How Can Suppliers and Retailers Create Lasting Value? to inform how AFGC leads and supports the broader ecosystem. This also gave us vital feedback on expectations you have on us.
- We delivered countless submissions, ensuring member perspectives shape government decisions across key policy areas.
- We strengthened our social media presence to amplify advocacy, increase visibility and ensure the sector’s voice is heard more broadly.
This work strengthens the sector’s voice and ensures member priorities are represented where it matters most – and we will keep advocating every day.

3. Events & Webinars
AFGC events bring our purpose to life, connecting members and enabling practical conversations across the sector.
- Food & Grocery Australia brought together 500 leaders to explore growth, resilience and innovation shaping the sector.
- We deliver regular webinars and virtual briefings, with regular sessions each year to keep members informed and connected on priority issues.
- APEX and the Trading Partner Forum showcase will bring leaders together to drive collaboration in conjunction with other new opportunities such as our Chairmans Series.
- Initiatives like the AFGC Future Leaders Scholarship support and recognise emerging talent and are getting better every year.
From major events to weekly touchpoints, this consistent cadence keeps members informed, connected and supported.
4. Expanding member value
We continue to evolve how we support members.
- We launched The Collective, our new member magazine.
- We released a new season of Sustaining Australia TV.
- We are expanding our focus on trade and the non-food sector, with new initiatives underway to better support members in these areas.
This work ensures we continue to deliver practical, relevant value as member needs evolve. We will continue to sharpen this focus and report back to all of you to increase visibility of the work we do for the sector.
